Guidelines for Authors

Last Updated: March 27, 2025

Please send your submissions to NULL@5gh.org.cn, and follow these guidelines when preparing your manuscript.

General Requirements

Bulletin of NULL Results (nullRxiv) has a diverse readership. Please communicate your findings as clearly as possible, and do not assume that all readers will be familiar with the specialist language or concepts of your field. Therefore:

(1) Clearly explain the background, rationale, and main conclusions of your study

(2) Explain technical jargon clearly when it is unavoidable

(3) Keep abbreviations to a minimum and spell them out fully the first time they appear

Manuscript Format

Submissions to Bulletin of NULL Results are format-free, and there is no length limitation. Figures should have a resolution of at least 600 dpi as separate files, and tables should be provided in Excel format as separate files.

Authorship

Each author is expected to have made substantial contributions to one or more of the following:

(1) The conception or design of the work

(2) The acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data

(3) The creation of new software used in the work

(4) Drafting the work or substantively revising it

Each author must approve the submitted version (and any substantially modified version that involves their contribution) of the manuscript. After submission, each author will receive an email asking for their approval, and all authors must reply and approve the submission.

Each author must agree to be personally accountable for their own contributions and to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work, even those in which they were not personally involved, are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Open Data

Please provide the original records for the data and images presented in the manuscript. If public datasets were used in the study, include the links to these datasets in the manuscript.

Ethics Declaration

If you are reporting experiments on live vertebrates (or higher invertebrates), humans, or human samples, you must provide the original documents of ethical approval. Include the appropriate ethics declaration in the manuscript, identifying the institutional and/or licensing committee that approved the experiments, along with the contact information and approval numbers.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Include a conflict of interest statement in the manuscript. If there is no conflict of interest, explicitly state this. The statement must be clear and unambiguous, describing any potential competing interests (or lack thereof) for each contributing author.
